Everyone is shocked and saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of our good friend Steve.
Some of Steve’s many contributions to our sport: Long-time Senior Judge, Chief Judge of Regionals, Chief Judge of Collegiate Nationals, many-time Appointed Judge of Regionals and Nationals, most recently the 2014 Nationals; Regular Driver; chair for the past 15 years of the SCR regional Waterways committee, member of the AWSA national Waterways committee; Regional promotional team coordinator for Nautiques. He was editor, publisher and chief copy writer for the SCR Regional Guide for the last decade or so. Steve knew the sport inside and out, as a boat dealer, ski shop owner, accomplished competitor, official and consultant for several private water ski communities in our region. Steve truly loved the sport of 3-event waterskiing, and supported it at all levels, whether by welcoming new people into the sport, or helping elite-level skiers to achieve new personal bests. He served as a member of the State of Texas’ Region H Regional water planning group for over a decade. No one loved the sport more than Steve. We will all miss his quick wit, and great sense of humor.
