It is amazing how much time and effort goes into a national championship and the crew at Waters Edge Ski Club in Wilmington, IL deserve a huge thanks for the a fantastic job of promotion, organization and amazing hospitality for the 79th Championship. The SCR's own Kelly Stumph headed the crew as Chief Judge this year and had the overwhelming task of keeping things moving for 7 days, plus the added challenge of coordinating with the US Open officials that were integrated into the activities for 2 days. I am still waiting on the final scorebook and results details, but will say that if you didn't get to attend or missed the excitement, please check out the webcast archive from USAWaterSki and TWBC.
I want to give a shoutout to Scott Greenwood who not only served as Assistant Chief Driver for the event was honored with the Fred Wiley Driver's Award for the outstanding job he did this year.
I will update the details once I have things in hand, but this year we over 650 entries with the SCR well represented with skiers, officials and volunteers including a number of first time nationals qualifiers.
Mark you calendar for 2022 as the Nationals will be return to Wichita, KS for another 7 day event tentatively scheduled for August 7-23, 2022. The Lakes of Cypress Hill will be hosting the SCR Championships current scheduled for July 22-24, 2022.
